TRAINING COURSES

Master the Road with Our Comprehensive Motorcycle Training Programs

Q- Ride Pre - Learner Course
The pre-learner course is a training and assessment program designed to help learner licence applicants gain basic riding knowledge and motorcycle handling skills in a safe environment before riding on the road. The objectives of the course are to ensure learner riders have the knowledge and skills to manage, under supervision, the routine riding situations they will encounter while learning to ride, to instill appropriate riding attitudes and a safety mindset, and to minimise the likelihood of harm due to inadequate riding knowledge or skills. The course forms part of an integrated training and assessment program which is competency based, adopting a blended approach to learning including theory, demonstrations, coaching and practice. Individual feedback is provided throughout the course allowing participants to learn through experience.

Q- Ride Restricted (RE) Course
The restricted (RE) licence course is a training and assessment program designed to help learner riders further develop their riding knowledge and motorcycle handling skills. The objectives of the course are to ensure learner riders have the knowledge and skills to ride unaccompanied, managing the routine and more complex riding situations they will encounter while riding, to reinforce appropriate riding attitudes and a safety mindset, and to minimise the likelihood of harm. The course is designed for riders who have completed the pre-learner course and have some on-road riding experience. This interaction also facilitates self-reflection and the use of higher order thinking, which positively influences on-road behavior and attitudes to road safety.

Q-Ride Unrestricted (R) Course
The unrestricted (R) licence course is a training and assessment program designed to help riders reinforce their riding knowledge and motorcycle handling skills, and further develop higher order thinking and risk management strategies. The objectives of the course are to enhance and reinforce riders’ knowledge and skills in managing routine and more complex riding situations on a more powerful motorcycle, to reinforce appropriate riding attitudes, and to minimise the likelihood of harm due to inappropriate riding skills, behaviors or risk management strategies.

Other Ride for Life Training
Learning to ride doesn’t stop once you have your licence. Many people, whether new, returning, or experienced riders, gain value from additional one on one training. This may be to increase your confidence after getting onto the road by yourself, to tackle a new riding situation, or to fine tune and finesse some existing skills. Techniques for road craft skills have changed over time, as have motorcycles – we are never too old to learn something new !
Refresher lessons generally are a min of two hours, and can be customised to suit your needs. Call us and discuss your needs. The location and route of the ride will vary depending on these needs and your current riding skillset.

Upskilling Rides
We also provide extension rides (typically ½ day) incorporating refreshers of road craft skills and techniques such as cornering, emergency braking, scanning, hazard perception, group riding, city riding, night riding, and other ‘long life’ riding skills. Watch this space for more information.
